The menu structure takes some getting used to, but that’s true for every app. FlyQ also works with a large variety of devices. Works with the widest range of ADS-B in devices, unlike ForeFlight which only works with Stratus and Stratux, and Garmin Pilot which prefers Garmin devices. FltPlan even has geo-referenced charts, approach plates and taxi diagrams that others charge extra for. It has all the features that the basic subscriptions to the others have, all of which charge more for the eye candy, such as synthetic vision and AHRS (although it does have an instrument panel feature). I have used Garmin Pilot, ForeFlight, FlyQ, all which are excellent, but so is FltPlan Go. FltPlan has more than 18 years of general aviation experience, giving pilots access to the best support team in the business.Ģ4/7 FltPlan Go support is available at

I have never used it in an airplane when it did not crash at some point (heck it used to crash when I was just looking at approach plates on the ground!), although I admit have not given it a workout in the last year or so, except on airline flights (where it also crashed).Īt this point, especially since I don't carry paper charts, I just hesitate trusting it for IFR use, even as a backup. Approach charts on fltplan go update#
The only two exceptions I am aware of are (1) iFlyGPS "hacked" the Stratus 1 for a brief period the next firmware update ended it and they figured not enough of their users cared since there were a number of other options and (2) I understand FlyQ also "hacked" the feed at one point, whether that's still the case I don't know. The Stratus ADS-B receiver is designed to work only with ForeFlight and (for the most part) vice versa.
